Here are some helpful tips to prepare yourself for Toronto Carnival 2012

1. Prepare & conceal any alcoholic beverages. (disposal water bottles/canteen/ sheep skin liquor Sack


2. Sunscreen / Lip gloss/Chap stick


3. Wear comfortable shoes - Boots/Sneakers/ any kind of flat shoes. Ladies slippers /flip flops/heels is a NO NO **Sensitive feet? - Insoles**


4. Safety Pins to re-adjust your costume


5. Eat breakfast or eat early lunch before your band embarks on the lakeshore as it’s very difficult to exit and enter the band route with fences and spectators along the route.


6. Mini Deodorant – PLEASE PUT DEORDERANT ON - MANDATORY


7. Bring your rag or flag but “Don’t Drag De Flag”


8. Always have vex money and or TTC token to take transit home


9. Fully charge cell phone – Even though you may not get a connection right away, it’s also good to have with you just in case you lose your crew. ** Please secure your phone on the road as many phones get lost jumpin up on the road**


10. Hand wipes would be helpful to clean glitter from your hands after dusting your body, washroom stops & eating throughout the day

Most important points:

• If someone ask to take pictures kindly smile and take a pic


• Keep hydrated- Drink water between liquor intake


• Choose a section you always will be if you happen to lose your crew. Ie. Behind DJ truck right or left


• If you are looking for someone on the route and you have cellular access, use the number on the lamp post as a land mark.


• Remember where you park. (some people like to park at the start or the end of the parade to make the departure easy)


• Don’t wukup too close to the music truck. You don’t want to fall and hurt yourself (Tires don't have eyes)
